Our Students

OUR STUDENTS ARE EXCEPTIONAL

American Councils works exclusively with high school (ages 15-17) scholarship students. Alumni include heads of state, educators, entrepreneurs, and more. They are exemplary citizens of their countries and carry their positive experience of the U.S.—especially their host parent or family—throughout their lives. Learn more about some of our Featured Students below.

Lusine can’t wait to explore the world! She loves to try new things and meet new people. Lusine’s friends describe her as friendly and talkative, and she makes new friends easily because she is trustworthy and helpful. Lusine is also very empathetic and understanding of others. Lusine is looking forward to experiencing holidays in America, such as Halloween and Thanksgiving. She is also excited about attending an American high school, participating in school clubs, and even riding the school bus! Do you like to dance? Lusine has taken dancing lessons for six years and would be more than happy to teach you some of Armenia’s traditional dances! Lusine likes animals and is excited that her family is adopting a dog soon. Lusine feels it is important to stay healthy, and she enjoys riding her bike every morning. She also likes volunteering and would like to engage in volunteer activities in the US. She knows her exchange experience will be challenging, but she also knows that this experience will help her become more mature and confident. Lusine is “looking forward to becoming a part of your family and life, and I believe we will have a lot of fun together!”
