Amine is an active teen, full of energy that he channels into his Tae Kwon Do and kickboxing practice! When he’s not on the mats, he can most likely be found swimming laps in the pool: “For me, swimming is a way to escape from daily stress and to leave everything behind. It teaches me to set goals, not to give up, and to work hard!” Fun fact-Amine is actually currently competing in Morocco’s National Championships in swimming. Amine considers himself to be sociable and independent. He also believes that he adapts well to new situations—important qualities in a foreign exchange student.
Does your family have any special traditions? Whenever Amine and his siblings get together, they immediately break out some fun family games or watch game shows on TV together. He says, “I love these moments because I feel the warmth of family vibes.” Amine hopes to travel and see the world. He aspires to study finance and commerce in the future so he can start his own company. In the meantime, however, he’s in love with his hometown in Morocco and its balance of traditional and modern architecture, as well as beautiful green spaces. He has many photos to bring along to the U.S. so he can share more about Morocco with his future host family.
Amine loves chicken nuggets and burgers, but he notes he isn’t a picky eater and would love to try American cuisine. During his exchange year, Amine also hopes to make as many new friends as possible. He would love to continue with two of his favorite school activities, swimming and theater, but is certainly open to trying new sports and clubs too. Thanks to his natural curiosity and determination to succeed, Amine is sure to have a successful year in the U.S.!
