Meet Douae April 2026 Student of the Month!

This month, we are proud to celebrate Douae from Morocco, hosted in Missouri as our Student of the Month! 🎉Douae embodies the spirit of cultural exchange through her resilience, creativity, and passion for connecting with others.

During her time in Missouri, Douae has made a meaningful impact through her involvement in community service. She volunteers weekly with a library “Book Buddies” program, where she reads with children who have learning difficulties, offering both support and encouragement. She has also contributed her time at the St. Louis Area Foodbank, helping prepare meals for individuals and families in need. In addition, Douae volunteers at a local rabbit shelter, caring for animals and ensuring they receive the attention they deserve.

Through these experiences, Douae has demonstrated a strong commitment to giving back and engaging with her community in thoughtful and meaningful ways.

Douae has embraced every opportunity to share her culture with those around her. She visited a local elementary school to present about Morocco, introducing students to her traditions, daily life, and childhood games. Her presentation sparked curiosity and helped students see the world from a broader perspective.

She has also engaged in meaningful conversations with classmates, teachers, and community members—helping to share Morocco with her community. Through her openness and willingness to connect, Douae continues to build bridges across cultures.

“I loved answering questions, and sharing games I used to play with them…I felt like in a way these kids will think of the world as a bigger place!

Douae’s exchange experience has deepened her understanding of American values, particularly the importance of freedom—not only in government, but in the ability individuals have to make choices and shape their own futures.

During Civic Education Week, she met with her state’s senators and engaged in discussions about the importance of exchange programs. She also visited Jefferson City, where she observed the legislative process and met her host family’s representative.

These experiences gave Douae valuable insight into how government works and reinforced her belief that individuals have the power to create positive change in their communities.

When asked to describe her exchange experience, Douae chose three powerful words:
Resilient. Creative. Passionate.

Douae’s journey is a wonderful example of what exchange is all about—sharing culture, giving back, and growing as a leader. We are so proud of the impact she has made and the connections she continues to build in her community.

👏 Congratulations, Douae, on being our Student of the Month!
