About Julia

Julia is an athletic, artistic, and motivated student who is eager to explore new corners of the world. She is from a large city in Poland and takes a lot of pride in her hometown and its history, calling it “a city of culture, friendly to artists and students.” At home, Julia loves to engage both her body and her mind – skiing and art are her two main passions. During her exchange year, she is excited to learn the American take on both and to share the Polish approach with you! In her personal life, she values her close relationships with her family and friends. She loves that her friends consider her mom to be a second mother to them! “I am very sociable, so I cannot imagine my life without other people,” she says. Julia is sure to bring her outgoing personality to her new host community, and she can’t wait to grow her community by getting to know her American friends and host family.

After school, Julia fills her time with art lessons, sports practices, and taking part in fun events in her city. She has always been creative, even from an early age, saying, “When I was a toddler I was all the time busy with painting, drawing, and more.” Julia looks forward to using her photography and art skills to document her year in the US! She also can’t wait to get involved in other activities in her host school and community. An explorer at heart, she is excited to get to know all that her host community has to offer! In particular, she hopes to learn more about American culture through attending sporting events and visiting museums. Julia is also especially excited to join school clubs and connect with her peers through shared interests.

During her exchange year, Julia plans to seek out opportunities to get involved in school and in the community and is hoping to lead a full life. As confident and independent young woman, she is sure to be an energetic and inspiring addition to your family! Julia is also ready to adapt to her new family and environment, saying that, as an only child, she “always wanted to have siblings,” but would also be comfortable living in a smaller family unit like she has at home. To her future host family she writes, “I’m looking forward to meeting you!”
