Our Students

We support high school (ages 15-17) scholarship students from more than 50 countries. While in the US, our students are proud to serve as citizen ambassadors for their respective countries. Upon returning home, they continue to carry their positive experiences of the US—especially their host communities—throughout their lives.

Talkative, curious Lilit is a student of many interests! Her long list of hobbies ranges from journalism and culture to photography and science. Lilit says that one of her greatest achievements is her role as a radio host for Armenia Public Radio. Working with Armenia Public Radio has been a great experience for Lilit, because she has the opportunity to work with and learn from professional journalists. She loves to talk, discuss, and debate, so this is a perfect activity for her! She can find a topic of conversation with just about anyone! She also participates in many interesting school clubs, and she’s currently learning Chinese. Lilit is an avid blogger, as well,an avenue she uses to talk about education, self-motivation, and foreign languages. She has even created some motivational videos for her site!

Lilit knows that participating in an exchange program will help her to become a better version of herself. She is open to learning about other cultures and wants to gain new skills (including photography, filmmaking, and programming)! In return, Lilit is excited to share her culture and traditions with her host community. She is particularly interested in is volunteering. She volunteers frequently in her community and will happily join similar activities in her host community. She also can’t wait to learn more about American music, saying When I got to America, I finally will learn everything about country music (it’s an American old music, like a folk music) and I really enjoy listening to that.”

Lilit is enthusiastic about spending one year in America and says her chatty nature means she will build strong relationships with new friends. She can’t wait to “discover a new country, new people, new environment, new mentality, and new traditions.” To her future host family, Lilit says “I’ll be so happy to experience one of the most important years with you!
