Our Students

We support high school (ages 15-17) scholarship students from more than 50 countries. While in the US, our students are proud to serve as citizen ambassadors for their respective countries. Upon returning home, they continue to carry their positive experiences of the US—especially their host communities—throughout their lives.

Tamara is an active young woman who is motivated by love for her family and a dream of making the world a better place. One of her favorite activities is traveling to interesting places in her country—even visiting the same place multiple times! She is eager to meet her US host family and looks forward to sharing her country and culture with them. She’d even like to invite her future host family to visit her home one day, saying “there are a lot of interesting places in Armenia. I think if you want to visit our country, you’ll love it as we do.”

Tamara likes to stay busy! In addition to her regular classes, she studies computer programming and coding. Her desire to be a programmer is connected to one of her biggest goals: “to leave a good mark” on her country. During her free time, she enjoys doing activities with her family and friends. She really values her close relationships and feels proud she can be a supportive friend. Common activities for Tamara and her friends include folk dancing, going to drawing club, and attending her friends’ musical performances.

Does your family have pets? Tamara loves pets, especially rabbits! She also thinks it would be interesting to have host siblings. Tamara looks forward to making friends from a new culture, learning about the US, and getting to know Americans. She wants to explore new clubs at her American high school, particularly dance class, volleyball, and basketball. Tamara’s social, optimistic nature and sense of humor will make her a great addition to your family!
