Lora from Bulgaria loves to stay active, both physically and in her community! “I am a member of the Town Student Parliament. This is a youth organization of high school students whose main goal is to do good things for the local community.” Through her participation, she organizes charity and cultural events. Lora also participates in three different clubs – photography, environment, and mathematical linguistics. Lora has been playing badminton for many years. She says, “I also used to go climbing, and this is a sport that has a very special place in my heart.”
Lora shares, “I adore spending time in nature and taking pictures to capture the moment or express certain emotions. Topics that interest me are the environmental issues our planet is facing and their solutions.” Lora surrounds herself with friends who have a positive impact on her and inspire her to be a better person. Together, they like to go to the movies or play board games. “When I’m not busy, I like to go outside, go on a hike with friends, ride a bike, work on my hobbies, or listen to music.” She is a curious person with a wide array of interests; for a future career, she hopes to pursue graphic design, IT, journalism, or translation.
Lora feels very proud of Bulgaria’s rich history, and she can’t wait to teach others more about it during her exchange year. She hopes to try out for some sports in her host school, like maybe swimming or cheerleading. Lora is also keen on sharpening her photography skills. She plans to take many photos with her host family and would also love to be a part of her high school’s yearbook club. When thinking about her year in the US, she says “I’ll get to learn new things about myself and the world by going on this journey!”
