About Uateti
Outgoing and kind, Uateti loves exploring new places and discovering new ways of life. Looking ahead to the exchange year, Uateti shares, “I am ready to experience new cultures and traditions!” Uateti is excited to build new skills in the U.S., especially in art and computers, and is eager to taste American foods—particularly dishes a host family might enjoy cooking together.
Family is very important to Uateti, who deeply appreciates the support and happiness family brings. Uateti is excited to meet and connect with a future host family and would happily welcome a furry friend, sharing a love for animals—especially dogs. Uateti hopes to learn about everyday life in the community, including routines at U.S. schools and what American teenagers enjoy doing for fun.
Ambitious from a young age, Uateti plans to study medicine and become a doctor, writing, “I want to be a doctor so I can help my family and the citizens of my lovely island when they are sick.” Uateti is a leader in the school community and enjoys learning through discussion. Uateti has close friendships and values the lessons these relationships bring—“how to love, how to help others, and how to bring joy to people.”
In addition to learning new things, Uateti enjoys playing badminton, braiding hair, writing poetry, and especially singing. Singing is Uateti’s favorite activity, and the chance to practice is rarely missed—new songs, familiar songs, any chance to sing brings joy throughout the day.
