About Wan

Wan is a kind and inquisitive boy who is excited to share his Malaysian culture with you! He is also excited to experience the diversity of the U.S. and says, “America is a melting pot of ethnicities and cultures, I’m looking forward to staying with you!” Wan comes from a close-knit family who loves to spend time together at the beach. They enjoy picnicking and swimming together in the ocean. Wan has two siblings, a younger brother and a twin sister! Wan is an active student, both in the classroom and out. His teachers describe him as a “helper” and note that he is always available and willing to assist his classmates and teachers. Some of Wan’s favorite topics of study are Mathematics and Physics. He hopes to become an Engineer one day, and also enjoys studying languages. In addition to English classes, he also enjoys learning French. Wan loves sports and staying active! In addition to being on the school basketball team, Wan also enjoys swimming, running and hiking. Wan enjoys playing basketball after school, and says “Basketball lets me free up my mind after a day of studying and decrease the tension in my muscles from a day of sitting.” Wan is excited to stay active in the U.S. and hopes to try kayaking and hiking. He says he is excited to “see the captivating landscapes of the American soil.”
