Does your family like to watch and play baseball? Maghrur from Tajikistan will fit right in, since he can’t wait to hit the field and learn to play America’s favorite past time, which doesn’t exist in his country. “I would like to play baseball in the U.S. I saw on TV how Americans grow together in baseball.”
An experienced farmer, Mahgrur is excted to share passion for farming with his host family. With the help of his younger brothers, he works on his family’s farm, which includes taking care of the cows and sheep.”My father is the chairman of a collective farm, and in the summer, I go into the fields to learn about agriculture.” When he isn’t spending time outside, Maghrur likes to hang out with his friends, whether that’s excericisng together or cooking their favorite meals. Mahgrur even finds time to practice everyday to be a champion volleyball player. He’s hoping to help his school volleyball team improve their standings in the local volleyball competitions, following in the footsteps of his father, who was a volleyball chamption in his day.
Mahgrur sees himself going to college to study economics so he can become a successful businessman. He views the FLEX Program as the first step in achieving his career goals. To his future host family, Maghrur wants to share: “I am looking forward to seeing you and spending good times with you!”
