Our Students

OUR STUDENTS ARE EXCEPTIONAL

American Councils works exclusively with high school (ages 15-17) scholarship students. Alumni include heads of state, educators, entrepreneurs, and more. They are exemplary citizens of their countries and carry their positive experience of the U.S.—especially their host parent or family—throughout their lives. Learn more about some of our Featured Students below.

Fidan is a creative and inquisitive student who works hard and hopes to “be successful in everything which I learn.” If your family enjoys arts and creativity, she would be a great fit for you. She especially enjoys drawing, as it makes her feel “light” and helps her relax. She hopes she can continue this hobby in the U.S. and draw some of the things she sees in her host community. Her goal in the future is to become a great artist and create works of art that are known around the world.

Music is also important to Fidan. She and her best friend enjoy listening to music and watching movies together. She keeps active by swimming and running. In general, Fidan tries to be the best person she can be. She says, “I’m trying to be honest, helpful to others, and take care of animals.”

Fidan is very excited for the exchange experience, and she hopes to both share information about herself and learn all she can about her host community. She shares, “I would like to learn a lot of things about the U.S.A, its traditions and holidays, historical places and others.” She would like to continue her hobbies of drawing, running, and swimming and share those hobbies with those in her community. She looks forward to the opportunities available in the U.S. and plans to take advantage to them to learn new things and become “stronger than now.”
