Meet Muhammad- Student of the Month for October 2025!

This month, we’re thrilled to recognize Muhammad from Pakistan, who is spending his exchange year in Missouri, as our Student of the Month! Since arriving in the U.S., Muhammad has fully embraced every opportunity to learn, connect, and share his culture with those around him. His enthusiasm, kindness, and leadership have made a meaningful impact in his host school and Missouri community.

“I’ve learned so much about American traditions, and at the same time, I’ve had the chance to teach others about my culture. It’s been an incredible journey of learning, sharing, and growing together.”

From the start of his exchange year, Muhammad has made it a priority to share his culture with others in fun and creative ways. He’s taught his friends basic Urdu phrases, and now they love practicing his native language whenever they meet. Recently, he introduced a friend to traditional Pakistani henna designs, and during a pumpkin carving activity with fellow exchange students from his Missouri cluster, he shared Pakistani music, explaining the meanings behind the lyrics—a true exchange of cultures in action!

Beyond the classroom, Muhammad is deeply involved in his school and local community. He volunteered at a food drive in Missouri, helping collect and organize donations to support families in need. Working alongside volunteers who had each completed more than 200 hours of service inspired him deeply. “I learned that collective effort can yield incredible outcomes,” Muhammad shared. Together, their team surpassed their goal—collecting over 2,000 pounds of food for donation.

When homecoming season arrived, Muhammad joined in the fun, learning about Spirit Week, pep rallies, parades, and the homecoming dance. He even volunteered to help decorate his class’s hallway, collaborating with classmates to brainstorm themes and bring their vision to life.

True to his spirit of giving back, Muhammad continues to find new ways to get involved at his Missouri high school. He’s helping a teacher organize a gaming marathon charity event, contributing creative ideas and logistical support to ensure the event’s success. He’s also working with his school’s chess coach to start a chess team, inspired after noticing during a tournament that the school didn’t yet have one.

Muhammad has also immersed himself in American high school traditions and culture. As a member of the JV cross-country team, he experienced firsthand the strong sense of school spirit that’s such an important part of high school life in Missouri. He was touched by the support of parents and students cheering for him by name during races. “It showed me how much Americans love their school teams and communities,” he said.

Whether volunteering, competing, or connecting through culture, Muhammad approaches each experience with curiosity and heart. Recently, after a cross-country race, he shared stories about Pakistan with his coaches and teammates, sparking meaningful conversations about culture and exchange.

We’re so proud of Muhammad for his positive attitude, initiative, and commitment to making the most of his exchange experience. Congratulations, Muhammad—your enthusiasm and leadership truly embody the spirit of international exchange here in Missouri and beyond! 🌍💫
