About Alexandrina
“I’m Alexa, a girl from Moldova who grew up in a small village but has enormous dreams!” Open-minded, ambitious, and full of curiosity, Alexandrina—or Alexa to her friends—is a bright and driven student who’s excited to experience high school life in the United States! Alexa is the oldest of four sisters and lives with her close-knit family, which she describes as “loud, loving, and always together.” Their household is also full of furry (and feathered!) friends, including dogs, cats, rabbits, and parrots. Though she now lives away from home to attend high school, Alexa returns on weekends to spend time with her family. During the week, she’s fully independent and responsible for managing her own schedule.
Alexa thrives when she’s busy. She’s a passionate public speaker and writer who loves directing plays and performing traditional folk dances and music. Her favorite activity is volunteering with other youth, which she hopes to continue during her time in the U.S. She dreams of a future working in social media marketing and entrepreneurship.
During her exchange year, Alexa is eager to meet new people, learn about American traditions, and take part in meaningful cultural exchange. With friends from all over the world, Alexa is no stranger to new perspectives! “We can talk for hours about the differences between our cultures and people’s lifestyle!” She hopes to get involved in cheerleading, debate, and community service. Celebrating U.S. holidays and exploring new places are at the top of her list—and of course, she’s excited to try Starbucks, Crumbl Cookies, and Chick-fil-A! With her warm spirit, creative energy, and fearless curiosity, Alexa is ready to build lifelong connections and unforgettable memories with her host family and community.
