About Anna

Family-oriented Anna loves discussing her week with her mom over a sweet treat and cup of coffee, and hopes to be able to share her new adventures with her future host family as well! As a lover and caretaker of animals, especially cats and dogs, Anna would also welcome a furry friend in her host home. Living with a host family excites Anna and she is “looking forward to having a great time together and learning more about the American lifestyle.” As a curious person, she is also excited to explore her host community and American high school!

Anna is also very creative as she enjoys drawing, crocheting, creative writing, and playing musical instruments. She shares, “My favorite activities are drawing and writing as I can make something on my own- I draw characters and write stories to share with others!” When she isn’t exploring her creative side, Anna likes to try different sports like swimming and badminton. During her time in the US, she hopes to learn to play the guitar, take part in a theater production, or join a new school club.

As she is very academically driven, Anna enjoys many school subjects including English, science, and computer programming. She writes about her future career, “I hope to work in the IT sphere, specifically gaming, and I think the ability to draw, write plots, and have some programming skills will be very useful.” Anna loves trying new things and considers herself to be very open-minded, a quality she knows will be very useful while in the US.During her exchange year, Anna is excited to try new foods like key lime pie, macaroni and cheese, and a traditional Thanksgiving turkey. Since cooking is one of her favorite hobbies, Anna is also excited to cook traditional Ukrainian dishes for her host family and new friends!
