Sergiu
About Sergiu
Sergiu grew up in a rural community where family life, responsibility, and initiative are part of everyday life. He describes his home as a place where everyone eats together, talks about their day, and helps one another, and he shares that “I was a caregiver early on,” supporting his younger sister and helping with household responsibilities. With few organized activities available locally, Sergiu learned early to create opportunities himself, explaining, “We don’t have clubs or activities, so I create them myself.” He enjoys learning English, exploring human rights topics, and taking long walks while thinking about ideas for new projects.
Sergiu is a thoughtful, values‑driven leader who combines empathy with action. He believes strongly in responsibility and growth, writing, “Fear disappears when you act,” and consistently steps forward when something needs to be done. Whether organizing student council projects or starting an English‑speaking community for students from different villages, he focuses on including others and helping shy students feel confident. Reflecting on his leadership journey, he shares, “Being responsible is doing things when no one else will do them,” a mindset that guides how he treats classmates, teachers, and friends.
Sergiu would thrive in a host family that values communication, shared routines, and mutual support. He wants to be part of daily family life, help with chores, and build real relationships, not just live as a guest. He hopes to join debate clubs and student council, experience everyday traditions like school events and holidays, and truly understand American life, saying he wants “to live there, not as a tourist.”
