Kristina

About Kristina

Meet Kristina, a friendly and adventurous student from Macedonia who loves a good thriller, music, and movie nights with family and friends. At home, she balances school with family time, helping with chores, and spending time with her three cats. She is adventurous and says, “I love traveling and discovering new places and lifestyles.” Reading has become a particular favorite because, as Kristina explains, “there are always unexpected twists that keep me curious.”

Kristina describes herself as friendly, communicative, independent, persistent, and comfortable working with others. Those qualities come through in her involvement with the Red Cross and debate club, as well as her previous experience in school orchestra and performances. She values teamwork and different perspectives, writing, “Working with others makes me feel fulfilled,” and she has learned through debate to improve her public speaking while respecting other viewpoints. She is also willing to reflect when something does not go as planned, and her essay describes learning the importance of persistence, hard work, and not giving up when results are not immediate.

Kristina is excited to share everyday life with her host family—from pitching in around the house to sharing Macedonian food, music, and traditions. She welcomes help with her English and looks forward to making friends and trying new school activities, especially drama, dance, and basketball. Above all, she hopes to build a lasting connection: “I hope I will become a real part of your family, not just a guest.”
