Razan
About Razan
Razan comes from a small town that is full of greenery! There is much she appreciates about it but so much more she hopes to see in the world. She loves her parents and older brother dearly, explaining “they’re more than I could ever ask for.” Together, they eat out at restaurants, watch TV, and visit her grandparents often. Razan is an introvert who appreciates her friends, saying “they give life meaning,” and is eager to engage in a good conversation when people approach her.
In her free time, Razan loves to spend time with her cats, read, write, and play violin. Though she finds violin to be one of her most challenging activities, she perseveres. Her “inner musician” loves to listen to and create music. She says, it is a “side hobby that makes me happy.” In school, she is very drawn to the medical sciences and is considering if being a nurse or surgeon could be the right path for her.
Razan has many dreams for the future and her time in the U.S. “My village is small and we rarely travel due to the circumstances, but I don’t want that to stop me from traveling and seeing other places.” She is ready to explore and make new friendships in her host community. Razan shares, “I learned..that the key to having friends that love you is to get out of your comfort zone and be more confident to get over your insecurities and love yourself. Nobody will see the beauty in you if you don't see it in yourself.”
