About Uateti

Outgoing and kind Uateti loves to explore new places and learn about new ways of life. When looking ahead to their exchange year, they share “I am ready to experience new cultures and traditions!” Uateti is also interested in gaining new skills while in the US and hopes to learn more about art and computers. They are also excited to taste new American foods and would love if their host family had American recipes they could cook together.

Uateti has a strong relationship with their family and is appreciative of the support and happiness they bring. They are excited to meet and interact with their future host family and would happily welcome a furry friend as they “love animals, especially dogs.” Uateti hopes their host family can teach them about day-to-day life in their community, including information about US schools and what American teenagers like to do for fun!

Ambitious since they were young, Uateti plans to study medicine and become a doctor writing, “I want to be a doctor so I can help my family and the citizens of my lovely island when they are sick.” They are a leader in their school community and enjoy learning from others through discussion. Uateti has a strong relationship with their friends as these are the people they learn the most from- “how to love, how to help others, and how to bring joy to people.” In addition to learning new things, Uateti likes playing badminton, braiding hair, writing poetry, and singing, which is their favorite activity. They like to practice their singing any chance they get and can often be found singing new and different songs throughout the day.
