About Yasmin

Yasmin is very close with her family and cherishes the time they spend together. She has “learned so much about love, respect, and support” from her family and knows she will bring these values to her host family home in the US. One of the ways that Yasmin connects with her family is through her favorite sport, tennis. Yasmin views tennis not only as a way to relax and let loose, but also as a way to connect with others. When they aren’t playing tennis, they can often be found trying new recipes in the kitchen!

Curious Yasmin is “fascinated with learning new languages and exploring different cultures.” When she isn’t practicing Spanish or one of her other languages, she can often be found exploring her creative side through painting and journaling. These activities allow her to express her thoughts and reflect on the world around her, and she hopes to share her artwork with her future host family! Yasmin is also very social and enjoys watching movies and playing board games with her friends. She hopes to create new and lasting friendships in her host community and at her new host high school.

As she looks ahead to her time in the US, Yasmin “can’t wait to experience American culture, including Thanksgiving, Halloween, and different school events!” She also hopes to try new activities like baseball, hiking, or attending an American sporting event. Yasmin prides herself on being adaptable and having good communication skills, qualities she believes will help her integrate into her new host community and create a lasting bond with her host family!
