About Youssef

Youssef comes a large city with an ancient history! Growing up, his family inspired him to be curious. He now has many interests and is eager to try new things. Youssef plays billiards, tennis, chess, and much more with his friends! You will often find him socializing. He says, “I love sitting with people even if they are older than me. I like to talk with them and gain experience.”

Youssef is also a curious student and is teaching himself about computer science and cybersecurity. His dream is to be a computer engineer because he “loves programming and its languages.” Also a gifted athlete, there are few sports he hasn’t tried. Handball is his favorite. He says, “I always leave the court feeling accomplished and energized.” Youseef also plays basketball and tennis, and enjoys swimming. During his exchange year he is excited to try new sports because he says he loves to try new things!

In the U.S., Youssef is enthusiastic to spend time with his host family, experience being an American high school student, and socialize with new people! The diversity of the U.S. is very exciting to him. “I will have knowledge about many new cultures and traditions,” he explains. He has learned many new things about the U.S. online and looks forward to sightseeing places of interest and continuing his learning. He also can’t wait to try new foods like buffalo wings, tater tots and mac and cheese! Youssef has a wealth of knowledge to share about Egypt and is excited to share his culture with anyone interested!
