Alina
About Alina
Alina comes from a small town where she is close with her family! They play “brain games” every Thursday, love to travel together, and go skiing in the winter. At school, Alina says “we only have 10 girls in our class but we get along well. We call ourselves b-b-b-barbies!” Everyone in the town is very supportive of one another, even when they don’t share the same interests, and “very open,” Alina explains.
Alina has many extracurricular loves.“I feel free with a volleyball in my hands, and a big part of my heart is taken by music. I play saxophone, guitar, and accordion.” She also has “a retro heart,” meaning she loves retro cars and music, as well as vintage items. Alina spends much of her summers with youth groups and volunteering as a camp leader. There, she plays volleyball and music to her heart’s content but most importantly, she loves to use this time to interact with people of different ages and learn from their stories.
During her exchange period, Alina is excited to see the beautiful nature across the U.S., such as mountains, waterfalls, and beaches. She hopes to continue her hobbies, while also trying new activities such as tennis or drumming. Alina is very open to new adventures and says, “I want to try everything I can in America.” From youth evenings and worship groups to barbecue and tacos, she is ready for anything! She is excited to “learn something new about herself and gain new knowledge about America,” and in return, share about her country’s songs, traditions, and history. “Can’t wait to meet you!” she exclaims!
