About Stefan

Sociable Stefan has a large and welcoming group of friends. When they aren’t playing sports, they can usually be found taking walks around the city, enjoying treats at a local bakery, or watching movies together. Stefan is also close with his family, especially his younger sister whom he considers to be his best friend. Growing up, Stefan learned the importance of hard work and responsibility from his parents, and he knows that these skills will help him succeed on program!

Active Stefan is passionate about sports, especially basketball, as it makes him happy and brings him excitement. Stefan uses basketball as a way to connect with others and stay motivated, and he would love to join a basketball team in his future host community. Another one of Stefan’s passions is music, specifically playing the piano. He shares, “I used to play in concerts, but now I just play for myself as it brings me peace and joy.” When looking to relax, Stefan likes to play chess, solve different puzzles like the Rubik’s cube, and play video games.

While in the US, Stefan is excited to try American-style foods like pancakes, barbeque, pumpkin pie, and hash browns. He is also looking forward to making friends in his community and knows that joining school clubs and sports will help him create these new relationships. Stefan hopes to “gain more knowledge about the culture of the US, including information about American history, holidays, and traditions.” He is also looking forward to living with a host family and hopes to teach them about his own culture and religion.
