Luisa

About Luisa

Luisa comes from a family of travelers! From skiing trips in the winter to visiting her father in Italy in the summer, she is not a stranger to new places. At home, she stays busy with helping to look after her younger siblings and working as a waitress during her free time. “I make friends easily, because I like talking to people,” Luisa adds.

Beyond this, she has many interests. “Running is my passion, I love it!” she exclaims. In addition to track and field, Luisa has studied classical ballet and is an enthusiastic cook, thanks to everything she has learned from her parents. “I like cooking Italian food for my Estonian friends and when I am in Italy, sometimes I do Estonian food for them.” Luisa has even participated in a cooking show and a cooking Olympiad! Academically, Luisa is open to new ideas for her career. She is interested in aviation and medicine, especially the possibility of “connecting medicine with sports” as a physiotherapist.

Thinking about her time in the U.S., Luisa says “I am very open to trying new things.” She is very eager to improve her English skills, try cross-country running or other sports, and “make new memories.” Luisa emphasizes, “I just want to say to my host family that I would love to teach them my culture and have new experiences with them.” She believes each of these experiences will teach her something new and looks forward to the opportunity to grow!
