About Elvira

Elvira is a creative, curious student who loves learning languages and making things with her hands—especially crafts that feel meaningful and personal. She describes herself as “a firework, shooting out in all directions, exploring all my possibilities,” and she brings that energy to daily life through reading, creating, and spending time with people.  She enjoys hosting friends, organizing small adventures, and even turning shared time into something hands-on—like sewing, crocheting, or experimenting with new foods.

Elvira is thoughtful and values genuine connection, growth, and responsibility. She believes “this is the meaning of life, interacting and building relations with people… not gathering… property, but instead memories,” and she lives that out by leaning into differences and learning from them. Her teacher describes her as someone who approaches subjects with real motivation and follows through in group work and responsibilities.  When she felt disappointed that she wasn’t active enough outside school, she took action—“I decided I am going to change that and applied to volunteering organizations.”

In a host family, Elvira would add warmth, creativity, and an easy willingness to join everyday routines—whether that’s cooking together, crafting, talking after dinner, or making simple moments feel special.  She’s excited to step into a new environment: “by completely changing my surroundings I will find out who I really am,” and she’s motivated by the chance to build real relationships across cultures.  She also thinks long-term about learning and impact; as she puts it, “Scientists need to communicate… share… data and build a community.” She wants to grow into someone who contributes thoughtfully wherever she is.
