About Luka
Luka comes from a town where family and community mean everything and though his family is small, he has grown up surrounded by love, support, and strong values. He is excited to become part of a host family and hopes to build meaningful connections with them during his time in the United States. Hospitality is an important part of Luka’s culture, and he has learned to make guests feel welcome and comfortable. Luka is looking forward to sharing this aspect of his culture, among others, with his host family and friends.
Social and open‑minded, Luka makes friends easily and loves meeting new people. He spends a lot of time with his friends and shares, “I believe that being around positive people helps me to grow!” Luka and his friends enjoy going for walks, discussing school and their future goals, and playing teams sports. Basketball is one of Luka’s favorite hobbies and he is hoping to join a local team during his exchange year! Luka is also very focused on his studies. He has a strong interest in math, aviation, and cars, and is taking extra English lessons each week to prepare for his exchange year.
Looking ahead to his time in the US, Luka is excited to share his culture, gain independence, and create unforgettable memories with his host family. He is also excited about new experiences, like trying new foods, exploring new places, and meeting new people. Luka writes, “I want my future host family to know that I’m positive, friendly, and respectful!”
