About Marjona
As a curious person, Marjona loves learning about new foods, places, and languages. She is looking forward to living with a host family and writes, “I want to learn your culture, taste your food, and hear your stories, while also sharing mine with you!” Some of Marjona’s favorite activities include playing the piano, watching movies, swimming, and volunteering. She dreams of becoming an actress and even hopes to create a small movie during her exchange year all about her exciting journey. If becoming an actress isn’t in her future, Marjona would love to help children and families all around the world.
Marjona prides herself on being a good sister and friend. She loves that her home is never quiet and is instead full of activity. When she isn’t sharing movie recommendations with her siblings, Marjona can be found taking longs walks with her friends or spending time at the local library. She also works as an English tutor for young kids, an activity she loves. “I always try to be supportive and hardworking, and I always give my best to everything I do,” she shares.
During her exchange year, Marjona is excited to share her Uzbek culture with her new friends and host community. As a lover of acting and theater, she plans to teach others about Uzbek history, literature, and poetry. While in the US, Marjona would love to see the ocean, and she hopes to create a bridge between her home country and the US. She writes, “I can’t wait to meet you all and create unforgettable memories that will stay with us for forever.”
