Teaa

About Teaa

Teaa is a warm, thoughtful student who grew up in a close‑knit island community where family, respect, and shared responsibilities are part of everyday life. She enjoys singing, dancing, volunteering, and spending time with people, and she values kindness and connection in her daily interactions. As she wrote, “I like talking to people and making new friends,” and she hopes to experience life in the U.S. beyond what she sees in movies. Coming from a culture where helping others comes naturally, Teaa brings a strong sense of gratitude and openness wherever she goes.

Teaa’s character is defined by empathy, patience, and personal growth. She describes herself as someone who avoids blame and gives others a chance to share their side, saying “if there’s a problem, I try not to blame, but instead give everyone a chance to explain.” She actively looks out for elders, gives up her seat on buses, and supports friends when they are struggling.

Teaa is excited to join a host family and fully engage in American school and family life. She shared that “I want an experience in the U.S. more than what I see in the movies,” and looks forward to drama club, singing, dancing, and connecting with new people. She is eager to communicate openly with her host parents, even offering to bake together and learn family traditions. Looking ahead, Teaa hopes to become a lawyer, sharing honestly, “I want to be a lawyer because I like to argue and talk,” and sees this exchange year as a meaningful step toward confidence, independence, and global understanding.
